Sorry, I meant not only for the child BUT the parent as well. I always talk about being an educator but then screw up when writing, it is embarrassing really. Anyway.
Oh, yeah, I totally agree that they are and have been a huge help in many communities for many years. I was just surprised to find that their rates were the same as any other place in town. Thanks for the info about the 12 week offer, that is sure nice to know and though I would love to commit to something and committing really is not the prob. it is more the influx of funds, or the lack there of that keeps me from committing, which I guess you could say is still a committal problem.
I am also glad and did not know that they were taking a stand to help children stay healthy. Being an educator I totally agree that the more children know about health and nutrition the better, but with bad food being so cheep these days I can understand why so many parents buy it. I think it is really a lack of education not only for the child and parents as well. Thanks for the info again! I am sure that places like the YMCA will flourish with great advocates such as yourself! TTYL!
it is not the cheapest place, however, i think they really care about the community. i am a huge advocate for them though. here is one instance of a good program they have: the YMCA offers a free 12-week Personal Fitness Program (PFP) for the individual who has difficulty committing to a fitness program. over the next several years they are really focusing on obseity in children.
while that is all nice their gym membership is exactly the same price as the secular gyms. HUMMMM.
