There are some great coffee shops around the world. If you have a favorite please share where and why. If I happen to be in the area I just might stop by.
If you’re ever in Santa Cruz, CA be sure to stop by Lulu Carpenter’s. It’s a great local dive and the coffee is outstanding.

When I was in school in Houston I enjoyed going to Diedrich Coffee on Montrose Blvd. The coffee and desserts were great and the atmosphere and scenery were always interesting. All important pieces to a great coffee shop.
I agree with Cody oon Mug and Mouse. Coffee is not that great but it is good for a place to sit and chat after all the other coffee shops are closed. “Full of culture” is a bit of an understatement.
Cafe Brazil is a great chain in Dallas - best on is off 75 or the one in Deep Ellum. Open 24 hrs.
Another neat on is Mug & Mouse (one near the old Cowboy stadium). It is in the Asian part of town, but open real late, and full of culture.
I love Lulu’s I used to go there when I worked at a summer camp in the area…
if you’re in berkeley I’d suggest Cafe Strada–it’s a small on the corner coffee shop (College and Bancroft) with great outdoor seating (heat lamps at night)–it’s great for people watching, chilling, and well coffee… their homemade apple cider is a treat too! I love it!
Crooked Tree on Routh Street in Uptown…Started by two young women entrepreneurs. They got its name because man has a sinful nature “Crooked” and Jesus died on the cross “Tree”…They give back to the community, as well as to overseas missions. These are two girls (Kristyn and Sarah) that really have it together! As for the coffee, they don’t burn their beans like Starbucks does, so it has a nice flavour. I ask them to make mine a little cooler than they typically do—it’s really hot coffee!!! It’s in a little house that was converted into a coffee shop; has a funky, old school decor…great place to hang out!
