I love it so much. I think Cody is right that it helps you get a very real picture of how some of these people live. And its not just India. There are slums all over the world. These people live in fear most of their lives. Its so sad. These people need Jesus, not better houses or cars, they simply need Jesus.

I watched Slumdog again the next day, and picked up on some things I didn’t catch the first time. This is a movie that you really have to pay attention to, especially if you’re watching on dvd at home. You can’t get distracted, wander around the house and come back. You just miss too much! If you haven’t seen it, go to Blockbuster (before they go out of business!) and rent it…
Okay, I was so inspired by the Our Convo convo that I rented Slumdog tonight. Awesome movie. So sad–depicted the poverty much less than I imagine it, although it represented it realistically. The movie was far better than I anticipated. Many times these Academy Award winners are real snoozers, but this one was awesome!
Did anyone catch John Legend’s performance on the Grammy’s w/the soundtrack song? Amazing
also . . .
Did anyone else want to shoot the brother in the face w/a semi-automatic revolver about 17 times?

$9 seems like a lot for a matinee in a less than snobby outlet mall, doesn’t it??? I wonder if I could venture out of the ghetto and enter the world of North Dallas??? hmmm….no, should definitely stay in the ghetto due to title of movie…
if you can afford $9 for a matinee, it is still at Grapevine Mills, but for the North Dallas snobs you also still see it at the Angelika (cheaper). it is a good one to see in the theaters too - lots of details and well depicted.

I wanted to see it as soon as it was released, but I don’t get out to the movies that often….but I knew I would love it as soon as I saw the interview of the director Danny Boyle with Gordon and the Whale - http://gordonandthewhale.com/danny-boyle-interview/
Basically, I was right on! Saw it and fell in love!
I loved SlumDog….the funny thing is is that it took me a long time to go see it, because the name itself had no appeal for me. We don’t really use the term “slumdog” here in the States.

I havent seen the movie. BUT i went to the kodac theater recently, and it was awesome… a lot smaller than i expected. and it is about to go under major renovations for circ di culi or whatever to do a full 10 year stay at the kodac. But the Academy Awards will still be held there.
