Project 25:40

So Trog and I are trying to get ideas on how to keep people involved and interested in giving to the poor without us being an annoyance.  I mean who really wants to hear us begging them to give over and over.  We did decide to send out updates on the causes that the government or corporations are matching on would be beneficial so people could maximize what their gift’s impact.

Any other ideas?

  1. Trog! I have not delved too deep into what you are doing but it seems pretty awesome! Sorry if my response seemed a bit callous…..I am all about the “teach a man to fish”….blessings on you….keep up the great work! you guys are definitely doing the Lord’s work!

  2. i love that you two are involved in this convo together - two of the most passionate charity organizers I know.

annoyance - i think you have to be smart with your marketing. give people the option to opt in and opt out of receiving info. people are not shy to let you know what you think, but you will always feel guilty - especially if they are mainly your friends and family.

  3. Hi Chad,

Sure thing… check out project2540.com and that should answer your questions…

Until then, your comment reminds me of the quote “give a man a fish and you will feed him for a day, teach a man how to fish and you will feed him for a lifetime” which is the exact goal of Project 25:40 The project supports children through Compassion International which sends them to a Christian school (meeting their spiritual need,) pays for school supplies, medicine, food etc. (which meets their physical needs. Also, we send animals to impoverished people through World Vision which delivers goats, chicken etc. (in Jesus name) and also gives them milk and eggs for many years.
I hope that is a little better detail and I love your heart for efforts that are long lasting and impactful.

    Highest Regards, Trog

  4. Could you be more specific please? What poor where? What is the purpose of simply giving to the poor? Ought not we facilitate rehabilitation and self-sustaining activities? Maybe people would give to your organization if you had clear cut goals and objectives. Why would I want to give to John poor man today, if I know there will be no change in his life and I will be giving to feed John poor man next year?

  5. I can’t wait to here some thoughts… Trog
