Denominations

It seems to me that are anti- and in fact exactly what Jesus did not want us to do.  I understand that there are differences in between, oh say a and a par example, but it seems that the rivalries, etc. between the create uneeded redundancies.   Why do we waste time with multiple churches of multiple on one street in when there are entire cities in without a solid evangelical, preaching ?….clearly there is something wrong with this picture.

  1. chad - i don’t think you answered his question. :)

  2. hey thomason! i am so excited that you are doing the work in europe!!! you rock man….where abouts in Europe are you ministering? blessings bro!

  3. chad-i am actually in europe right now, and i don’t see many evangelical, Gospel preaching churches. and i am evangelizing the lost. what are you doing about it, “clearly there is something wrong with this picture” ?

  4. I don’t have a problem with denominations, either. I have friends who attend Lutheran, Episcopal, Presbyterian, etc., churches. As long as the focus is on a true, living, growing relationship with Christ, I don’t care if they use a “Prayer Book”, a “Hynmal”, or just Powerpoint Slides to facilitate/organize their worship. We focus way too much on how where we disagree, and not enough time focusing on WHO we agree on - Jesus!

  5. do you want one big church on the side of the street? effective churches with good church discipline (and such) are typically smaller. you live in the Bible Belt and there are going to be a lot of churches.

i am not so sure that i feel divided because of denominations. i know which i believe are Christian and believe they have the same RELATIONSHIP that I do - rather than a religion or denomination.

  6. Couldn’t agree more. I think we spend too much time arguing against each other when we could invest our time sharing the love of Christ with the lost.

    2 Timothy 2:23
Don’t have anything to do with foolish and stupid arguments, because you know they produce quarrels.

    Titus 3:9
But avoid foolish controversies and genealogies and arguments and quarrels about the law, because these are unprofitable and useless.
