Title: Lemons into lemonade
Picture this: You’re walking past a colleague’s computer when you notice something strange jutting out from the machine. On closer inspection, you realize that it is part of a finger, inserted into the USB drive and left there. A script for a bad Halloween movie? Actually, it’s the latest technological breakthrough.
You’ve heard of the “thumb drive,” a memory stick which can be inserted in your computer’s USB to download and swap files. Now comes the “nail drive,” a 2 GB memory stick which is attached to the nail on your finger. The only problem is, you have to lose your finger first. Then you can replace it with this prosthetic device and its attached electronics.
Today’s BBC World News tells us about a Finnish computer programmer who did just that after losing one of his fingers in a motorcycle accident. The finger is not permanently attached to his hand, so it can be left plugged into a computer when in use. That’s an image you don’t want to store in your mind. The man is planning to upgrade his finger to include more storage and wireless technology.

Yeah, that is where I quoted this from… at the top of the post I gave credit where credit is due! : Dr. Denison
i read about this through his email (which, btw are great godissues.org) - what a disgusting idea, but it certainly make the best of the worst.
