How Our Convo is different
How is Our Convo different from a Facebook?
- Facebook groups cannot notify you of updates and the discussion boards are threaded (lots of clicking)! Our Convo utilizes one page per convo - we rather scroll than click. The most recent reply is at the top.
- Your audience on Facebook is your friends, while Our Convo opens an ability to communicate with the world. It allows you to receive new perspective on issues and topics that you may not be able to gather with your community on Facebook.
How is Our Convo different from Forums/Threaded Discussion Boards?
- Forums are typically topic specific which make the audience only those interested in that topic (either learned or fanatics). Our Convo is a platform that lets the world be your audience. Plus, forums are threaded (lots of clicking)!
How is Our Convo different from Gmail?
- Our Convo creates a public platform for conversations, gives all participants a specific web url to reference the conversation and is easier for a person who wants to join the conversation midway.
Customizing Our Convo
How do I change my profile picture?
- Our Convo integrates with Gravatar (an universal image profile picture based on your e-mail address). You can change your image by creating a Gravatar account. Note: Facebook Connect users have their Facebook profile picture synced.

Creating a New Convo
I do not want the whole world to read my conversation, can I protect it?
- Yes, when writing a new conversation click on Password Protect this post. You will have to give the specific members the specific password that particular convo.
Can I edit the convo I started?
- No, since users have already responded to your convo it would not be fair to change the description. In the same respect, users cannot change their replies since other users will reply to their replies. Essentially, it is the free speech philosophy - you are welcome to say anything you want but you cannot take it back - you are forever responsible for what you say.
What is the difference between a category and a tag?
- There are a set number of categories and they are very broad.
- Tags are more specific than categories.
- Both categories and tags help Our Convo be organized allowing other users to particular with your convo.
Subscriptions
I am not receiving emails letting me know there has been a reply on a conversation, what’s wrong?
- If you are a Facebook user, you must manually add your email to your Our Convo profile.
- Go to the conversation you want to be subscribed to and ensure it states “Manage Your Subscription” rather than giving you the ability to subscribe.
Can I receive a daily email with all new convos?
- Sure can, click here to subscribe. You will receive one email a day max and can unsubscribe at anytime.

I love Our Convo, what can I do to help get the word out?
- The "Share Convo" link in the header of every page is probably the most powerful way to get other people involved.
