  1. Cody, your conversation starter was fine, i was and am refering to the comment made by the other guy. Sorry, i just realized that what you wrote is neither one side or the other. I put my foot in my mouth often. :/

  2. I don’t know……..I think just the whole “quote or post” could be picked apart, really. People do take and abandon their dogs out in the country when they get sick and tired of them and there is a huge outcry against it, at least there is here. We can’t even find a cure for the common cold, which is a virus just like the flu and AIDS, so how do we know that it can even be cured. Cancer is a horrible thing but it is caused by SO many things that how can we pin point a cure for all of them, or even one of them? Though I know all of that stuff was making the point of abortion is horrible, which it is, I don’t think we should base an argument on “What ifs.”

While it was not really one sided you can definitely tell you are pro-life, which is GREAT because I am too, to a point, so I guess that makes me pro choice????

I think I have just gotten to the point with all the crap that has gone on in my life lately thinking that you can spend your whole life, worrying, struggling, and dying for what you believe in, which is fine for you but for me, I just want me and my family to be able to go to bed safe every night, wake up safe every morning, do our jobs and then do the same thing again the next day. I used to crave excitement and adventure. I wanted to stand up for something and let my voice be heard but then I was slapped down hard, really hard, really really hard and found out that I just want me and my family to live and in doing so I just want people let us live our lives and in return we would let people live theirs, with no judgment. I guess I am just saying that really, it is not worth the argument because if you make it legal, which really it is to a point now, people will just continue doing what ever they want to do. If you make it illegal then people will just continue doing what ever they want to do, but making it much more dangerous to do so. Women have been getting abortions since forever, it is not going to just stop all of a sudden because some one picketed on the right day, because some one said something to some one, one day or the because the president makes it illegal. I know women who have gotten abortions. When I hear it, it still shakes me to my core but the majority of women who get them are so messed up emotionally by their decision that I just think, “Wow, they are definitely paying for their decision now.” Then on the other hand though there are women who totally block out the pain and get one after the other and don’t bat an eye and for those women then I say “I don’t have to judge them because God will and they will get what they deserve.” So I guess my WHOLE point is, usually if you are pro-life you are a God fearing person and if that is the case then let God do the judging, not any human, because humans are not any where near perfection and since that is the case why do we think that we can judge someone who has to make one of the hardest and some times most regrettable decisions in their lives.

If you want a black and white answer to this problem then I will give one to you. Education. In school we learn all about why not to mess around, what can happen because of it and just not to do it. Abstinence is the answer. NOT! Many women don’t know their options and therefore think that it is so bad that they got pregnant, which it is not totally their faults alone, and think they have to act quickly. They are not educated at all about what their options are IF they do get pregnant, which should not happen if they are practicing abstinence, right? Also, many of those women who forgot to practice don’t have a support system to help them either. People need to open their eyes and stop spending all their time arguing and making the woman feel bad about her decision that she had to make ALONE, even though making the baby was not a one person ordeal, and put their efforts toward education, so that people/women know what their options are.

WEW and I don’t even like debating. Who knew, right? ;)

  3. I am definitely pro-life and anti-abortion. However, I have a neighbor who is so pro-life/anti-abortion that he pickets abortion clinics, and tried to involve me in this “extra curricular activity!”

  4. Clearly, this topic has been a lightning rod for conservatives and liberals alike. However, the fundamental question, when does life begin, is relatively clear, from a medical and scientific standpoint. At the time of fertilization, genetic material that is individual and unique is created. While the embryo does “require” the mother’s womb in order to grow, develop, and survive, this does not make the embryo a part of her body…in fact, if not for God’s intricately designed protections, her body would attack the baby as foreign. Her “choice” then, is not just over her own body; if she chooses abortion, she is, therefore, choosing to end another human life. Allowing one person to arbitrarily end the life of another opens the door to blatant disregard for all of human life.

  5. which quote? i tried to start the “discussion” without stating my side on it.

  6. Hummmmmm…..abortion…..such a controversial issue to be discussing and is there anyway to be on the other end of this spectrum or not care for the quote posted and not get slammed? Yicks!

  7. Most probably we would not be facing some of the economic and social problems we are facing today had not a third of my generation been vacuumed out of their mother’s womb. Maybe the doctor who would have cured Cancer or AIDS and the like has already been aborted. If a wife should have the right to choose, then why don’t we all take our unwanted pets outback and dispose of them whenever we feel like it? Believe you me there would undoubtedly be a public outcry over such a thing. It has always puzzled me how the tree-hugging, save the whale types are the same people who run around with coat hangers killing babies. That sounds like a great bumper sticker to me…save the whales, kill the babies.
