Fund-Raising Ideas
Do you have a good idea for a fund-raiser? The Rotary Club of Frisco has a fund-raiser each month at a different restaurant around town. Establishments that host our events donate a percentage of the days earnings to our club. The Rotary Club of Frisco then reinvest the funds raised back into humanitarian efforts such as eradicating polio, helping to dig wells in third world countries, and even clothing kids here in Frisco.
On Tuesday, March 31, The Rotary Club of Frisco will host a fundraiser at Bonnie Ruth’s in Frisco (located at the southwest corner of Lebanon and the North Dallas Parkway in the Shops at Starwood). If you go there for lunch or dinner on March 31 please be sure to tell them that you are with The Rotary Club of Frisco so they will count this toward the amount they donate to the club.
I will keep you posted on future fund-raising events. If you have any ideas for fund-raisers I would love to hear them.
Get the Politics out of Economics
Economics is a science. Why are we in the economic mess we are in? It certainly is not because there is a non-existent precedent to observe and learn from. In fact, everywhere Socialism is tried it fails, yet we (Americans) like sheep, gravitate toward feel good kool-aide when what we need is some real life robitussin. Talk is cheap. Let’s cut capital gains taxes, lift ridiculous environmental regulations, and encourage freedom, capitalism and entrepreneurship and see what the DOW does in the next few years. Or we could make the rich worker bees pay for the jealous middle-class/poor bees who feel that life is not fair and watch our economy tank and our freedoms taken away….ok I’m rambling. What do you guys think?
abortion
Perhaps on of the most controversial topics of our day. It has lingered in the political releam for decades now. This is your place to discuss, debate and rant about the issue.
iPhone
I love my iPhone. And im sure whomever is reading this does to. But the best way to love your iPhone even more is to spread the love with new apps you find. And sure there are the top app sites but those are jsut for the big apps. I would love for you to post great things about any apps. maybe even about an app you have created. But if you know of an awesome app out there the might make life easier for the rest of us. Post it up. Share a little bit about it. Thanks

Title: Lemons into lemonade
Picture this: You’re walking past a colleague’s computer when you notice something strange jutting out from the machine. On closer inspection, you realize that it is part of a finger, inserted into the USB drive and left there. A script for a bad Halloween movie? Actually, it’s the latest technological breakthrough.
You’ve heard of the “thumb drive,” a memory stick which can be inserted in your computer’s USB to download and swap files. Now comes the “nail drive,” a 2 GB memory stick which is attached to the nail on your finger. The only problem is, you have to lose your finger first. Then you can replace it with this prosthetic device and its attached electronics.
Today’s BBC World News tells us about a Finnish computer programmer who did just that after losing one of his fingers in a motorcycle accident. The finger is not permanently attached to his hand, so it can be left plugged into a computer when in use. That’s an image you don’t want to store in your mind. The man is planning to upgrade his finger to include more storage and wireless technology.
